Maternity Photo Session!

How excited were we when we got our maternity pictures back and saw how great of a job Dana Murph did....AGAIN! As the photographer for our engagement pictures, bridal portraits, and wedding, we knew she would be great, but she just continues to amaze us with her talented work! You can visit her blog at http://www.danajophotos.blogspot.com/ to see alot of the pictures, but I have also posted some here for you!

Bill's Hot Dogs & Brand New Babies!

On Thursday, Dee's sister Laura had her baby, Layla Paige, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington! We were so thrilled that everything went so smoothly for her and the baby! We rushed to get off work to head to Washington to see the little one, but first....I had to satisfy my craving for a Bill's hot dog! Dee took it upon himself to call Bill's Hot Dogs to see what time they closed (he knows the way to my heart!). We rolled to Washington and skidded into the parking lot on two tires to arrive at Bill's Hot Dogs at 5:17 -- right before they closed at 5:30! I got not one, not two, but THREE hot dogs and we "dogged" them in the parking lot (pun intended!).

After a belly full of dogs, we went to visit the brand new little one! How adorable is she! As I rocked her, I felt little Lucas kicking in my belly, and having two babies became a taaaaaad overwhelming! haha! Thankfully we aren't having twins!

Merry Christmas, Ya Filthy Animals!

My how Christmas came and went like a flash!! We spent some good times with both Dee's family and mine and had many memories of our "last" Christmas before Lucas arrives! Mom, Amanda, and I went to the outlets at Nags Head on Christmas Eve and I splurged on a Coach diaper bag that I just love! It has so many great compartments and included a matching changing pad!

Dee found his diaper bag before I even found mine on Black Friday! He wanted to make sure if mommy wasn't around that he would have his own bag for Lucas -- I don't understand why he wouldn't just want to carry the Coach! ; ) Here is a picture of his below - I don't think I've posted this yet. Instead of yellow, his is a sage green color.
Here are a few pictures from Christmas for your joy and merriment pleasure!

Lucas's future embarassment - his daddy! Haha!

Hold On To Your Antlers....7 Weeks To Go!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure it goes without saying, but this holiday season I have truly enjoyed myself! We have had some great parties already and done some good eating, and Lucas is just putting on weight like crazy! He is now 4 1/2 lbs and about 17 inches long! His toes are in my ribs and his hands on either sides of my belly button, and he is officially a karate kid!!
Only 4 more weeks to full term, a clean bill of health from the OBGYN this week, and now....we wait until 36 weeks when I get "checked" for the first time to see if I am at all dilated or effaced! Who knew I'd be so excited for something probably not so comfortable for me to go through!
In other news, we had maternity pictures taken today by the wonderful Dana Murph! You can visit her page at www.danajophotos.com. We took the pictures right here at our house and are so excited to see how they will turn out!
Last but not least, we also attended a newborn care class last week and Dee and I truly got a kick out of learning how to diaper, swaddle, and give baby a bath! We are going to just be naturals!! We rocked it with the plastic baby and all! If I had to give us a grade, I would say an A+ all the way! And, we answered the most questions correctly out of the group....SCORE!! Now, let's just see how we do when the baby arrives!

Here are some stats for ya to enjoy and keep checking back soon for the maternity pictures to come!

What's baby up to in there:
Big time brain development! He is now acutely aware of his surroundings - he can see, taste, and hear! And if there was something to smell in the womb, he'd be able to do that too!\
Total weight gain:
Well I'd like to avoid this question, but I know people are wondering so here goes nothing: 26 lbs. Woop woop! I can gain 9 more pounts in the next 7 weeks and still be within normal range, so I should be good to go! There's no stopping me now!! Haha!

Sleep:
Ummmm no.
Maternity Clothes:
Not enough of them! But, enjoying wearing Dee's t-shirts around the house!

Food cravings:
STRAWBERRIES! This was something I craved at the beginning of my pregnancy and it has returned in full force! #1 on the list: Strawberry Real Fruit Slush from Sonic! They know us by name and may we not forget they have happy hour from 2-4pm everyday! Who knew I could enjoy happy hour even more as a preggo than I did when I could actually drink a martini!
Movement:
All OVER the place!

Best moment of the week:
Our work Secret Santa exchange! I got some great goodies over the past few weeks and enjoyed some yumsters with some lovely ladies!
What I'm looking forward to:
Do I really have to say? I guess I will for all you slow ones out there: Meeting my perfect little boy....DUH!
What I miss:
Wine. That is all. : )

Babymoon: An excuse to get away with my sweetie!

This past weekend Dee and I took our "babymoon" to Durham and Chapel Hill! We used this weekend as an opportunity to get away one last time before Lucas arrives and before the holiday craziness! We didn't want to go too far seeing as I'm not the best traveler these days between restless legs and the baby chilling on my bladder, so we decided a Carolina basketball game for Dee, and a bed and breakfast with a king-size bed and jetted tub for me would be perfect! And it was! We had a great time together as we always do and ate at some GREAT spots! I'm gonna miss having an excuse to eat whatever I want after this baby is born!

We started the day out right with breakfast at Time Out in Chapel Hill! Known for their chicken biscuits, we enjoyed one of these before the game! Carolina/ECU game!

Before dinner at Pop's Trattoria in Downtown Durham!

Our awesome bed and breakfast! King's Daughters Inn!

We only had a little daylight left on Saturday after we checked in, so we hopped on the bikes to ride around the Duke campus across the street (and might I add the campus is HUGE and this pregnant girl on a bike was preeeeeeetty entertaining!)

We enjoyed the campus, but we all know Dee is a Carolina fan!

Yay for a king-sized bed!

Worth every penny!

 Bye bye Durham!!
