If I'm breathing... I'm Hungry!!!

Well let's see....I cannot seem to satisfy my hunger! I knew I liked to eat before I was pregnant, but now, this is just getting ridiculous! I have craved everything but tomatoes seem to be on the leader-board for me! I don't care if it's salsa, marinara sauce, tomato soup, or ketchup. If it's got tomatoes in it, I want it!!! Not only have a been craving tomatoes, but since Saturday I have wanted a strawberry milkshake!! What is up with the red food? Who knows, and who cares! Just give it to me! Excited about tonight because I know at least one of my cravings will be satisfied -- we are going to eat Mexican food for dinner. So I will definitely get my share of salsa!

On the other end, my symptoms continue to be in hiding which is perfectly fine with me! I have a little bit of bloating and some breast soreness, but nothing to complain about! So far, baby E is going easy on me : ) He/she's breaking me in gently!

To Bring You Up-to-date

This is one of hopefully many posts that will bring you up to date on what's happening in the pregnant world of me and Dee! As of Tuesday, June 12, 2012 (Dee's grandmother's birthday!) I found out that Dee and I will be expecting a baby in February! Now, this was something we knew would happen quickly after our wedding, but little did we know God had a hand in making sure we didn't get side-tracked! When we get asked, "Were you trying to get pregnant??" I usually respond with, "Well we weren't checking ovulation calendars and taking basal body temperatures, but we were doing what newlyweds do!" We are firm believers of everything happening for a reason as well as happening when it is meant to be.

Of course, just like everything else, there are many cliches of how you find out your pregnant - women will say, "I just knew!," or "I know my body and I just had that glow!" or "I wrapped little onesies for my husband and let him open them on Father's Day!" and on and on. Well, I had no such thing! I felt no different and was actually at home by myself when I took a pregnancy test just to "ease my mind" since hindsight brought to my attention that I had missed my body's monthly gift (for lack of better terms). First test...2 lines. Second test...YES +. Third and fourth test...POSITIVE. I called Dee who was driving his new work van home from New Bern and, of what I remember, it went a little something like this:

Holly: "Hey, are you by yourself?"
Dee: "Yeah why?"
Holly: "Well, umm...this isn't exactly how I had envisioned telling you this, but I just took a pregnancy test.....And it's positive."
Dee: "Are you for real?"
Holly: "I think so!"
Dee: "Ohhhhh lord, we are gonna have a little rug-rat!"

Can't you just see this conversation going down?!! At this time, I called my OB-GYN and told her nurse everything. She said she didn't need to see me until July 10th when the baby is a little more developed and at that time we can do bloodwork, financial planning, etc. etc. etc. That conversation ended like so:

Holly: "Are you sure I can't come in and get some blood drawn today? I mean I kinda need a little more confirmation than an at home pee on a stick."
Nurse: "Well if it says you're pregnant, than you're pregnant. How many did you take?"
Holly: (after some hesitation)...."Four."
Nurse: (laughing hysterically) "You're definitely pregnant!"

And so begins the story of a world turned upside down, sideways, forwards, and back again!! : )
